New Areas 08/14/08 *SPOILER* DON'T READ IF YOU WANT INFO.

As the title says, the new areas have finally been added in.

I have been asked to give a lil' bit of understanding about some of the areas by admin.

So here it goes:

The Blood Sea is 9 areas interlinked to form one big sea area of over 1000 rooms.
It is not Jokers Sea, things in there WILL kill you. You have been warned.


Hmm, what else, there is supposed to be an Ancient Ruins that hasn't been touched in a long time, no telling what is in there.....

There is a chest, somehwere at the bottom of a lake, near some wetlands......

An old abandoned church has been infested by evil.......

The old Jokers Basement in the Castle has been replaced....

Beware the Brownies in the Glade...

Beware the children of acid that have goals not thier own, the Luker of the Sarangrave is Hungry....

Castle Drik'na (diegar's areas), sits atop the mountain top. Large and teeming with citizens, it is underneath it where the surprises lay.

In the Cuniculus Forest (diegar's areas), the simple folk guard a terrible secret.....


Explore the new areas....

the glade in small patches, while daffodils seeds float in the breeze. The warm
summer grass fills the surrounding hills and the scent of sweet earth fills the
air.

So..not that i'm not grateful for any of the info..and I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this...but it seems like the areas were added in so people could explore and have fun and have a reason to be on. Seems like giving out all the info sorta kills all that, makes people think they already know everything about the areas and not want to log and play them.

I vote that we delete Mase's last two posts (though they are good) and for the time being ban anymore talk about the new areas...on the forums at least. This way if people want to know about em..they must come, explore, and actually play =]

I'm not putting it back up.

Here was my reasoning behind putting up info in a public part of the forum:

Clans with players big enough to explore difficult areas give their newbies a huge advantage. I know this because I've been on the short end of the stick for most of my time here, and it sucks ***. When everyone in your status range is in the same clan, has two quested anklets, talons, lastinas, and Nod for ****'s sake, and you don't even know what those things are, it isn't fun.

By the same token, 90% of my moderate success here has been due to generosity of big players in OTHER clans. All 4 of my slayers, my first two blood letters and all the laz staves I've had were from Ghnat's help, my defiler came from a run that Karik put on, Justin helped me do an anklet run a couple weeks ago and Vexen helped me get another armor rune just the other day.

So I might be overly sensitive to the player who hasn't had the chance to explore and so is at a disadvantage, but I'm just trying to collaborate. It's not like anyone but the 10% in the loop are going to find anything good anyway. :D

Your feet land softly on a dark floor. There do not seem to be any walls and
sound doesn't seem to reflect off of anything. The only thing in sight is a
large steel door and a frame that are standing straight up from the floor. The
other side of the door looks exactly the same.

(White Aura) A massive winged figure stands guarding the Grand Gate of Middle Hell

This massive figure is wrapped in a soft white glow. Her gigantic wings extend
outward away from her body and seem to drip with light. Lightness has the

herself to middle hell to protect the gate, so evil can not escape.

Lightness is in perfect health.
Lightness's eyes are glowing bright red.
Lightness is hovering in the air.

center of the room, there is a short podium with a dim amount of light shining
down on it from a swirling vortex of color above. As you step closer to the
vortex, you can feel it pulling up at you.

Sucking at your soul, a swirling vortex of colorful energy pulls at you.
A featureless silver cube is sitting here.

...yes, i'm assuming enter vortex would work. However, it is necessary to have access to the room WITH the vortex in order to enter the vortex. That being said, I am currently stuck in the room beFORE the one with the vortex, and the key that ostensibly provides me access to the "vortex" room in actuality, does not.

the door is in the middle of the room not attached to any walls, there are two sides to it.

Turns out the problem with the keys was indeed a bug. Valynn provided a temporary solution, and a request for a fix has been sent to Dieger (from what I understand) as of yesterday.

Concerning Bair's note: the room's description does conjure up an image of a door in the 'middle' of a doorless room, making a "west" exit through the middle of the room appear a bit odd. It would make more sense to actually have to enter the door, as with a portal. That being said, a fix is in the mix.
