There is no other easier way of finding the Plains Lion. You need to scry lion, 2.lion till you see the one at room "River", with these description:

River

The darkness of the river recedes as the river flows swiftly farther north. The

mud and debris begin to settle along the river bottom as the river begins to

clear and gain a sparkling color.

(Hide) A golden silhouette lies crouching waiting to pounce.

Usually, hunt 8.lion will bring you there.
